Our Father in Heaven, who understood loss in the giving of your Son; give rest to the caregivers, comfort those who grieve, and grant life to those who have given theirs in the service of others. Give us joy for mourning; in the name of your beloved Son through whom we ask expecting and believing. Amen.

O Merciful Father, who in your wisdom chose a seemingly ordinary young girl to be the mother of the ultimate gifted child; have mercy on us. Strengthen those of us who have gifted children. Grant us wisdom when our kids try to outsmart us. Give us courage to stand up for them when others do not understand their special needs. Help us to remember that they are still children, too, as we are yours; in the name of your beloved Son through whom we ask expecting and believing. Amen.

Almighty God who knows and cares about our desires, our dreams, and our fears; make your desires our desires, your dreams our dreams, and thereby relive our fears; this we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen

Almighty God who for our sake became flesh and suffered; open our eyes and hearts to the suffering in the world around us, that as we share the burdens of our brothers and sisters, they may also share in your mercy and grace; this we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen

O Lord God who always hears us when we cry out; give us the voice to speak for others that no one might feel silent or unheard; this we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen

Almighty God, who came down the Light of Truth to shine into our darkness; dispel, we pray the darkness that lurks in each of us, the sadness that surrounds us, and the grimness of spiritual winter that comes to us by season so that as we see with the New Year, we can see the dawn of a new day and the grace that comes with second chances; through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen
